Where was this photo taken?
Retrace works out the place from what is in the picture: signs and text, landmarks, coordinates stored in the file. If it can name a place, it marks it on a map and shows how precise the point is.

What you get
- The place on a map, with its precision: a building, a district or only a region.
- The clues behind it, each with a link to its source.
- A clear “place not named” with the reason, when the picture does not give enough.
Questions
How accurate is the location?
The report says how precise each point is and marks guesses as versions. When the picture gives too little, Retrace says so and does not pick a place.
Does it work without metadata?
Yes. Screenshots and re-saved files lose their coordinates, but signs, text and landmarks still point somewhere. The original file is better, because it may carry exact coordinates.
